Robert Bowman Modern: Willie Bester Trojan Horse IIITrojan Horse III by Willie Bester will be on show for the first time in the UK at Robert Bowman Modern. The title of the work refers to the Trojan Horse Massacre of 1985, which occurred in the Durban suburb of Athlone. 2010 marks the 25th anniversary of the tragedy. Bester’s work charts the dramatic social and political developments in South Africa over the past quarter decade. His account of social change is not idealistic; instead, he continues to address issues of corruption and Government accountability in the new South Africa.

The Glasgow Boys from The Fleming CollectionA major exhibition of works by the Glasgow Boys, the group of highly influential and internationally-renowned Scottish-based artists who on occasions enraged Victorian Britain, at The Fleming Collection. Most of the paintings come from The Fleming Collection’s own holdings but ten are from an important private collection rarely seen by the public. The Fleming Collection’s exhibition will demonstrate the depth of its acquisitions since it was founded as a corporate collection of Scottish art. This year it is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its transformation into a charitable foundation with a gallery open to the public in Mayfair.
